With 338,095 (441,608) cars built in 2020, the headquarters in Ingolstadt is the second largest production site in the Audi Group. This plant in the heart of Bavaria is not only a production facility, but is also home to the Audi Group head office and Technical Development. Audihas 43,142 (44,458) employees here, making it the region’s largest employer. Measures have already been implemented at the Ingolstadt site to prevent 70 percent of the CO₂ emissions that would otherwise have been produced.

Neckarsulm, Germany AUDI AG, Audi Sport GmbH
Automobiles have been built for over 100 years at the Audi site in Neckarsulm. With its small-series and large-scale production expertise and the wide range of derivatives, the plant boasts the greatest product diversity at the Volkswagen Group. Not only the model series Audi A4, Audi A5, Audi A6, Audi A7 or Audi A8 are produced here. Audi Sport GmbH (formerly quattro GmbH) has its headquarters here since 1983.
The high-performance Audi R8 sports car and the fully electric Audi e-tron GT are being built at Böllinger Höfe industrial park in the Heilbronn area, around six kilometers away from the plant. Neckarsulm also holds a key position in future-oriented projects for digital production and logistics within the Volkswagen Group and is steadily evolving into a smart factory. The Group's competence center for fuel cell technology is also located at the Neckarsulm site.

Safety at facilities
At its Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm sites, AUDI AG is bound by the provisions of the 12th German Federal Emission Protection Directive (12th BImSchV; Hazardous Incident Ordinance). Ingolstadt is an upper-tier operating area and Neckarsulm an lower-tier operating area.. The safety of equipment and systems is our highest priority. Our objective is to minimize all potential risks to staff, the environment, equipment and the surrounding areas. The information sheet entitled “Public information in accordance with the 12th BImSchV” contains an overview of all substance groups that are relevant for hazardous incidents, the key aspects of the safety precautions at the sites and information on correct conduct in the event of danger.
